After Nearly 2 Months of Closure, LNG Tanker to China Finally Passes the Strait of Hormuz

After almost two months with no activity, an LNG tanker has finally managed to cross the Strait of Hormuz.
The ship named Mubaraz, carrying liquefied natural gas from the United Arab Emirates, is now reported to be heading to China.
Previously, the vessel had been waiting since early March in the Gulf area, awaiting confirmation that the shipping route was safe to pass.
This movement marks the first after a long period during which no loaded LNG tankers entered or exited the Strait of Hormuz.
Before the conflict occurred, an average of three LNG ships crossed this route daily. However, in the past two months, only one ship has been able to move.
The Strait of Hormuz itself is a vital route through which about 20% of the global LNG supply passes, so disruptions in this area have a significant impact on global energy distribution.
Although one ship has crossed, the situation is not yet fully normal. Access to the route remains very limited and selective.
This situation indicates that control over energy traffic still lies in the hands of certain parties, with not all countries having equal access.
