Recently, the discussion about LST/re-staking has picked up again. To put it simply, most of the returns still come down to “someone is willing to pay for security/liquidity/point expectations,” or protocol subsidies are basically burning money to prop it up. That little bit of interest you receive isn’t something that just falls from the sky—behind it is either inflation, transaction fees, or the expectation that someone else will pick up the tab later… In any case, someone has to pay.

The risks are also pretty straightforward: one layer is the penalties inherent to staking itself and the operation of nodes. Re-staking means using the same collateral repeatedly to secure more activities—when something goes wrong, the blast is compounded. On top of that, there are contract risks, bridges, and cross-chain message delays—those “it wasn’t even your action, yet they still count it as your responsibility” kinds of issues. Lately, people have been hyping AI Agent/automatic interactions like crazy, but what I care about more is what permissions it actually gets, and whether revoking them is difficult. Don’t end up saving two minutes only to lose a wallet.

I still have my old habit: test with small amounts multiple times. If I can take it slower, I’ll do that. I’ll make sure I can withdraw first before talking about returns. I’m going to get to work now.
