Crypto World News reports that the White House has announced that the latest developments regarding the U.S. strategic Bitcoin reserve will be released soon, with a public statement expected within weeks.
At the Bitcoin 2026 Conference, official Patrick Witte revealed that the government is refining the legal framework to ensure and manage the Bitcoin it holds.
He stated that the government is close to finalizing key interpretations to “consolidate and protect our digital assets on the government’s balance sheet, especially Bitcoin.”
Witte confirmed that internal efforts are focused on translating last year’s executive order into a workable framework, with the administration expected to take further action soon.
He mentioned that there will be a “major announcement” outlining the next phase in the future, while adding that legislative support remains essential to ensure the long-term stability of the reserve.
Nick Bugeich said that the previously proposed Bitcoin bill is being renamed the U.S. Reserve Modernization Act (ARMA), building on an executive order signed by Trump that established a strategic Bitcoin reserve primarily funded through asset confiscation.
Witte stated that the upcoming announcement will represent a “breakthrough” in moving the reserve from a policy concept to an operational system, although subsequent legislation remains a necessary condition for its durability.
