Iran is reportedly beginning to use abandoned oil tanks to store oil.

Gold Financial reports, April 28, according to The Wall Street Journal, due to the U.S. Navy implementing a blockade and negotiations remaining deadlocked, Iran is urgently seeking new methods of storing oil to avoid catastrophic shutdowns. As oil accumulates domestically, Iran is restarting abandoned sites known as “junk storage,” using simple containers, and attempting to continue exports via rail. These unconventional measures aim to delay an infrastructure crisis and weaken the U.S. leverage in the Strait of Hormuz confrontation.
