South Korea's stock market surpasses the UK, ranking as the eighth-largest market in the world

Golden Finance reports that on April 28th, the Korea Composite Index’s intraday increase expanded to 1.48%, closing at 6,712.73 points, setting a new record high. The Korea Composite Index has gained nearly 60% year-to-date, continuing to lead globally.
Data shows that driven by strong gains in leading AI-related technology stocks, South Korea’s stock market capitalization has surged over 45% this year, reaching $4.04 trillion, surpassing the UK stock market capitalization and ranking as the eighth-largest stock market in the world. It is worth noting that by the end of 2024, the UK stock market’s size will still be about twice that of South Korea’s, making this pace of catch-up unprecedented. (Dongxin News Agency)
