DeepSeek-V4 Technical Report Publicly Reveals Author List, Multiple Core Key Members Have Left for Major Tech Companies
Mars Finance News, April 28 — DeepSeek released a V4 technical report spanning 58 pages last week, and a roster of nearly 300 “Research & Engineering” authors has drawn attention. Founder Liang Wenfeng is co-signed with all researchers and engineers. In the list, 10 people are marked as “no longer employed,” including core backbones such as Wang Bingxuan and Wei Haoran, as well as Guo Daya. It is reported that from the second half of 2025 to date, at least 5 core R&D members at DeepSeek have confirmed they have left.
The news says that Wang Bingxuan, the core author of DeepSeek’s first-generation large language model, went to Tencent; Luo Fuli, a core contributor to V2, was recruited by Xiaomi; Guo Daya, a core researcher of R1, joined ByteDance’s Seed team; and Ruan Chong, a core multimodal technology researcher, also left to join the autonomous driving technology company Yuanrong Qixing. As for Wei Haoran, the core author of the OCR series, his next destination has not yet been disclosed. These core R&D members cover four main technical lines: foundation models, reasoning, OCR, and multimodal. (Wide-Angle Observation)
