#Polymarket每日热点 Polymarket is a decentralized prediction market platform based on blockchain technology, with the main features and functions:
1. Core Functions
Users can place "Yes/No" bets on any future event that has not yet occurred, such as political election outcomes, sports match results, technology product launches, economic indicator changes, etc. Each event corresponds to a contract, and users participate by purchasing shares of "yes" (believing the event will happen) or "no" (believing the event will not happen). Share prices range between $0 and $1, reflecting the market consensus on the probability of the event occurring.
2. Operating Mechanism
Price linked to probability: If the market believes there is a 70% chance of an event happening, the "yes" share price is $0.7, and the "no" share price is $0.3, with both prices always summing to $1.
Trading and settlement: Before the event result is announced, users can freely buy and sell shares; once the result is confirmed, the party that guessed correctly can redeem their shares for $1, while the shares of the incorrect party become worthless.
Result verification: The event outcome is verified via on-chain oracles (such as UMA optimistic oracle). Users can submit results and stake collateral; if there is a dispute, a challenge mechanism is used for resolution.
3. Technical Foundation
Built on the Polygon blockchain, employing a hybrid order book mechanism, with off-chain order matching and on-chain settlement, balancing trading efficiency and security, supporting stablecoin trading such as USDC.
4. Regulation and Compliance
Previously penalized by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for compliance issues, it later acquired a licensed exchange and obtained a designated contract market (DCM) license issued by the CFTC, becoming a regulated prediction market platform within the United States.
Polymarket aggregates crowd wisdom through economic incentives, converting dispersed information into quantifiable probability forecasts. It can serve as an information reference tool and also has trading features, but users should be aware of the risks involved and participate rationally.
