Sztorc’s Bitcoin eCash Fork Plan Draws Criticism Over Satoshi Coin Reassignment

Bitcoin developer Paul Sztorc proposed an August 2026 eCash hard fork that would mirror BTC balances and assign 600,000 eCash to Satoshi Nakamoto on the forked chain. Critics said the plan would set a bad precedent for property rights and distribution. Sztorc said BTC balances would remain untouched because the reassignment applies only to newly created eCash tokens.
