On the same day Meta announced layoffs of 8,000 employees, it launched a new AI model called Muse. Microsoft offered voluntary separation plans to thousands of senior employees, and the two companies together cut about 20,000 jobs within seven days.


As long as layoffs happen, stock prices just keep climbing, and all expenses turn into fixed investments in data center infrastructure.
