Meta expands AWS partnership, millions of Graviton cores deployed to support Agentic AI

Mars Finance News, April 28 — Meta announced it is deepening its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), planning a large-scale deployment of its self-developed Amazon Graviton processors. The initial rollout will reach tens of millions of cores and can dynamically expand based on business needs. With this move, Meta will join the world’s largest Graviton customer base. This collaboration builds on the two parties’ long-term cooperation and will directly support Meta’s next-generation AI R&D, with a particular focus on meeting the workload demands of agentic AI.

AWS Graviton5 is built on a 3-nanometer process, comes with 192 cores, features a 5x expansion in cache capacity, reduces inter-core communication latency by 33%, and delivers 25% better performance than the previous generation. Combined with the Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) to enable low-latency, high-bandwidth interconnects, it effectively supports large-scale distributed workloads. This deployment marks the evolution of AI infrastructure from relying solely on GPUs to a more diversified computing architecture. (Wide-angle view)
