Japan Airlines will test humanoid robots for cargo handling at airports to address labor shortages

Japan Airlines announced on April 27 that starting in May, it will begin pilot tests using humanoid robots for airport ground operations such as luggage handling on aircraft, aiming to address severe labor shortages. Initially, Japan Airlines will test robots moving cargo containers from carts to near the aircraft, and discussions are underway for full deployment after 2028. (Interface)
