According to The Korea Times, the Korea National Tax Service has recovered 33.9 billion won (approximately 23 million USD) in unpaid taxes over the past 9 months through cooperation with tax authorities in 3 countries. NTS has currently exchanged information with 163 jurisdictions to track assets hidden overseas. The report states that starting next year, Korean tax authorities will receive virtual asset transaction data from 56 countries based on a new cryptocurrency asset reporting framework; from 2030 onwards, they will also exchange information on overseas real estate holdings and transactions.
