CryptoWorld News reports that OpenAI and Microsoft announced a revision of their partnership agreement, with the most significant change being Microsoft's license to OpenAI's intellectual property shifting from exclusive to non-exclusive, allowing OpenAI to offer all products to customers on any cloud platform. Microsoft remains OpenAI's main cloud partner, with products prioritized on Azure, but no longer holds exclusive rights. Other terms of the agreement include Microsoft's license to OpenAI's models and products lasting until 2032, OpenAI's revenue share to Microsoft continuing until 2030, with the same percentage but a cap on the total amount, and the share no longer tied to progress toward AGI. Following the announcement, Microsoft's stock price initially dropped about 2%, while Amazon rose 1%. This revision of the agreement is seen as an important step in repairing the relationship between the two parties, officially ending OpenAI's long-term restriction to a single cloud platform.
