Mars Finance News: The official Solana team has published an article on the potential impact of quantum computing on blockchain, reaffirming that the quantum threat is still years away, but that the Solana ecosystem has already carried out thorough research and made technical preparations in advance. The independent verification client development teams Anza and Firedancer (together representing most of the network’s staked share) have reached a unanimous conclusion after independent research: what is needed is a post-quantum digital signature scheme with compact signatures that is suitable for high-throughput blockchains, and they have jointly selected the Falcon approach. Both sides have separately released initial implementation code on GitHub. In addition, the Solana Winternitz Vault developed by Blueshift has been operating in the ecosystem for more than two years, providing a direct post-quantum path. Earlier this year, Google Quantum AI listed this Vault in its white paper as a leading example of industry-forward post-quantum work. Solana’s current quantum roadmap includes continuing quantum research and evaluating Falcon and alternative schemes; when quantum becomes a credible threat, adopting post-quantum solutions for new wallets; and migrating existing wallets to the selected scheme. The official said the migration work is controllable and can be completed quickly when the time comes, and network performance is not expected to be significantly affected.
