According to CryptoNews, Google DeepMind has reached a partnership with South Korea to provide technical support for the K-Moonshot project, aiming to use AI to solve complex scientific challenges, covering fields such as life sciences, meteorology, and climate research. Both parties pledged to deepen exchanges on AI models and scientific data. The agreement was signed in Seoul on Monday, with DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis and Deputy Prime Minister Bae Kyung-hoon in attendance. Google will establish an AI-focused campus in Seoul, serving as a hub for local engineers and academic institutions, and will provide training for Korean researchers. The South Korean government has requested Google to dispatch at least ten engineers to offer support. Hassabis stated that they will strengthen connections with Samsung, SK Hynix, and Hyundai Boston Dynamics. The collaboration will also be joint with the Korea AI Safety Institute to ensure that new technologies are developed under strict supervision. K-Moonshot is South Korea’s science and technology roadmap, with goals including AI drug discovery and the exploration of sustainable nuclear fusion energy. This cooperation follows Alphabet’s significant funding commitment to AI company Anthropic, indicating ongoing momentum in the field.
