Lately I've been talking about re-staking and shared security again, watching the layered yields stack up looks pretty good, but I always feel like don’t accidentally turn “stacked yields” into “stacked illusions”… Security isn’t a points card, flipping it around just adds one more. To put it simply, it’s still the same core: who guarantees it, how are damages compensated if something goes wrong, will the punishments really be enforced.

I thought shared security could smooth out the cold start of new chains, but it turns out it’s more like moving the risk elsewhere: you get that extra little yield, and in the process, you also take on the pitfalls designed by others’ systems. Recently, the staking unlocks and token unlock schedules are being pulled out every day to scare people, I get anxious too, but right now I care more about whether the exit process is smooth, I don’t want to lock myself into a bunch of unknowns just for a little more interest. Let’s watch the star map slowly, rushing won’t help.
