Hubei uncovers the first virtual currency theft case, involving over 100 million yuan in stolen funds

Mars Finance News: Officer Guo Tingyu of the Cybersecurity Brigade of the Qingshan District Public Security Bureau in Wuhan participated in solving Hubei’s first virtual currency theft case. By tracking the funding chain and analyzing fake wallet code, he identified and dismantled a coin-thieving gang involved in more than 100 million yuan of the case’s funds. All 5 suspects have been apprehended. The gang carried out the theft by developing counterfeit virtual currency wallet apps to induce users to download them, with total downloads exceeding 10,000 times. Guo Tingyu also participated in investigating multiple criminal cases involving virtual currencies.
