On April 27, reporters learned from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate that a case involving Fei Dongbin, a former member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Transport and the former Party Secretary and Director of the National Railway Administration, who is suspected of accepting bribes, has been investigated and concluded by the National Supervisory Commission, and has been transferred to the procuratorial authorities for examination and prosecution.

According to law, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate made a decision to arrest Fei Dongbin on suspicion of the crime of accepting bribes, and designated the People’s Procuratorate of Changchun City, Jilin Province, to examine and prosecute the case.

Recently, the People’s Procuratorate of Changchun City, Jilin Province, has filed a public prosecution with the Intermediate People’s Court of Changchun City.

During the examination and prosecution stage, the procuratorial authorities, in accordance with law, informed the defendant Fei Dongbin of his litigation rights, questioned him, and heard the defense attorney’s opinions.

The prosecution’s indictment alleges: The defendant Fei Dongbin used the convenience provided by positions he held—including, among others, standing committee member and executive deputy director of the former Beijing Railway Bureau; standing committee member and executive deputy director of the former Jinan Railway Bureau; deputy party secretary and director of the Hohhot Railway Bureau; deputy secretary of the Ulanqab Municipal Committee and mayor of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region; vice governor of Henan Province; standing committee member and vice governor of the Henan Provincial Party Committee; a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Transport; and party secretary and director of the Party Leadership Group of the National Railway Administration—along with the convenience arising from his authority or status. Through the conduct of other state functionaries, he sought benefits for relevant organizations and individuals, illegally accepted other people’s property, in an amount of especially great magnitude, and, according to law, should be held criminally liable for the crime of accepting bribes.
