Odaily Planet Daily News: On Sunday local time, North Carolina Republican Senator Thom Tillis said that he will support the confirmation of Kevin Warsh’s appointment as Federal Reserve Chair, thereby removing the final major obstacle for Trump’s chosen candidate to succeed Powell. For months, Tillis had refused to vote in favor of Warsh, saying that as long as the Department of Justice’s criminal investigation into Powell is still ongoing, he will not push for the confirmation of any Federal Reserve nominee, calling the criminal investigation an attack on the central bank’s independence, but the investigation appears to have ended last Friday.
