Flees to Israel, crypto exchange CEO escapes with 4,500 BTC

Poland’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Zondacrypto, collapsed after its CEO, Przemysław Kral, was reportedly said to have fled to Israel. Kral is suspected of using Israeli citizenship to avoid extradition amid an investigation into the disappearance of 99% of the company’s Treasury assets. This scandal is estimated to have resulted in total losses of more than $100 million.
Kral claimed that the 4,500 BTC assets in that Treasury were inaccessible because the private keys were carried off by the exchange’s founder, Sylwester Suszek. However, Suszek himself has been missing mysteriously since 2022, and prosecutors believe he has been murdered. Rumors are spreading that the “missing keys” excuse is nothing more than a cover to conceal the flight of customers’ assets.
At present, all withdrawals at Zondacrypto have been frozen, and the management team has resigned. Polish authorities are now investigating the case as an alleged international embezzlement scheme involving an unresolved criminal tragedy.
