The online video claiming "Indonesian oil tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz" is forged.
Recently, a video claiming to show an “Indonesian oil tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz after being released by Iran” has been circulating on overseas social media platforms. In the video, a crew member speaks in Indonesian, saying the oil tanker is passing through the Strait of Hormuz, then the scene cuts to a man dressed in camouflage, with the Iranian flag hanging behind him, responding in English, creating the impression that “Iran has allowed Indonesian ships to pass.” However, AFP’s verification found that this is not a real on-site video but AI-generated content.
