Last night, the chain was congested again, and that feeling of "lining up to get on the highway" in the mempool returned: you click confirm, but you're just shoving the transaction into the waiting room, and miners/packagers pick the ones that pay the highest tips first. The rest just hang there, causing you to doubt your life. What's more awkward is that you want to do other operations afterward, but since the previous transaction hasn't gone through, everything else gets stuck due to nonce, like waiting in line to buy bubble tea and not being able to switch queues.
Recently, during the airdrop season, it's even more obvious. Many people in the group curse the task platforms for anti-witchcraft while clocking in, and the points coupons are as routine as going to work... When congestion hits, they start raising fees to cut in line. Honestly, on-chain isn't "submit and it's done," it's just you paying for priority. Anyway, now I see congestion, I prefer to wait first—better slow than paying emotional taxes.
