AI Stocks Control 45% of the S&P 500, Dominance Also Spreads to the Debt Market
The artificial intelligence sector is now dominating the U.S. financial market on an unprecedented scale.
AI-related stocks have been recorded to make up about 45% of the total capitalization of the S&P 500 index, hitting an all-time high.
This figure has surged about 20 points since the end of 2022, coinciding with the launch of ChatGPT, which triggered a spike in interest in AI technology.
AI dominance is not only happening in the stock market but also extending into the credit market.
About 15.4% of investment-grade bonds in the United States are now related to the AI sector, making it the largest sector in the debt market.
This percentage has increased by approximately 3.5 points since 2020, along with the rising demand for funding to develop AI technology.
The total debt related to AI has also nearly doubled during this period, reaching a record of about $1.4 trillion.
This phenomenon shows that AI has become a major theme dominating both equity and credit markets simultaneously.
This scale of dominance has never been seen before, marking a major shift in the structure of the global financial market.
This development confirms that AI is no longer just a technological trend but has become a fundamental foundation in valuation formation and capital flows.
