DOJ Sends California Man in $263M Crypto Fraud Case to 70 Months in Prison

DOJ said a California man received 70 months in prison for helping a group steal about $263 million in crypto assets through social engineering fraud and home invasions. Court documents show Evan Tangeman pleaded guilty in December 2025 and admitted helping launder at least $3.5 million in illicit funds.
