According to South Korean Yonhap News Agency, two active-duty non-commissioned officers in their 30s from the Republic of Korea Army Special Operations Command were sentenced on April 26 by Changwon District Court to two years in prison each for operating unreported virtual asset exchanges illegally during their service and assisting in drug trafficking money laundering.

Investigations revealed that the defendants operated an illegal trading platform via Telegram from 2023 to 2024, assisting buyers 90 times in converting approximately 54.69 million Korean won worth of drug money into virtual currency and transferring it to sellers.
