I found that people really are more hopeless about floating losses… When there's a paper profit, I can still pretend “Hmm, that's normal,” but once it turns red a bit, I start imagining all kinds of endings: Should I add more, should I cut, will there be another dip, and as a result, I wake up twice in the middle of the night, eyes sore like I just stayed up all night revising proposals.

Honestly, floating losses aren't about money; it's the shame of “Did I judge wrong” that’s bothering you. DAO proposals are the same—no matter how fancy the dividend write-up is, everyone’s always focused on whether they’ll suffer a loss, fearing losing more than wanting to win.

Recently, some people even take large on-chain transfers or moving hot and cold wallets on exchanges as signals of smart money… I also have the urge to check, but after looking, I just get more anxious, stomach tightening: is this a signal or noise? Anyway, I try to watch the market less now, not checking on-chain before bed, or I’ll lose more than I already have just by stressing myself out.
