Recently, I came across a bunch of "address profiling" and "tag clustering" tools that claim to instantly identify smart money, yield farmers, funds, and so on... I admit I want to believe it, to save me from scrolling through records on the chain one by one. But honestly, these tags are usually pretty close to the truth—same address might be yield farming today and market making tomorrow, so the profiles are like horoscopes; they can be used as a reference, but taking them as gospel is easy to get misled.
Especially now with AI Agents and automated trading narratives being hyped up, seeing a bunch of addresses interacting automatically on the chain, like "institutions are in action," but upon closer inspection, some are just scripts running tasks + dispersed fund flows, and the security is tight but overly cautious. A few days ago, I almost impulsively wanted to quit a certain tool or even uninstall my wallet plugin—more and more, I feel anxious: the more tags there are, the messier the tax report... But I think I should stick to the checklist, do small tests, keep good notes, at least I can review my mistakes if I stumble. Anyway, don’t treat "profiling" as the answer; just see it as a telescope.
