Reporters learned from the special press conference held on the 21st titled “Starting Strong in the 15th Five-Year Plan — Striving to Write a New Chapter of Chinese-Style Modernization in Inner Mongolia” that, as one of the national computing power hub nodes and data center clusters, during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Inner Mongolia will shift from “resource export” to “computing power empowerment,” turn its advantages in wind and solar power into advantages in computing power, and work to fully build the National Important Green Computing Power Security Base and the “Green Computing Power + AI” application base. Bao Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Chairman of the People’s Government of the Autonomous Region, introduced that Inner Mongolia’s development of green computing power is supported by green advantages of computing-electricity synergy, advantages of computing power scale, and a network connection experience at the millisecond level. Today, Inner Mongolia is standing at the new wind of AI computing power. In the future, it will turn Inner Mongolia’s wind and sunlight into electricity, into computing power, and into Token (word tokens), transforming abundant and inexpensive clean energy into digital “hard currency” worth several times or dozens of times more.

It is also said that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Inner Mongolia will expand the scale of computing power, support the high-quality development of the Hohhot and Hailar data center clusters, and overall coordinate the coordinated development of computing power between Hohhot and Ulanqab. It will implement a number of ultra-large-scale intelligent computing center projects and deepen the push of Jingshumeng computing and green computing into Beijing, so that Inner Mongolia’s computing power can “supply enough, compute quickly, and be of even higher quality.” In addition, it will also improve computing-electricity synergy by laying out a batch of zero-carbon data center park zones and accelerating the construction of basic infrastructure such as direct green power supply and source-grid-load-storage integration.

At the same time, it will further optimize the industrial ecosystem. With the autonomous region’s digital industrial parks as the core carrier, it will build the National Data Industry Clustering Zone to high standards, cultivate green computing power advanced manufacturing industries, and precisely attract upstream and downstream enterprises such as computing equipment, computing operation services, AI inference training, data labeling, and data trading to form an end-to-end, full-industry-chain ecosystem.
