CryptoWorld News reports that the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced on April 24th the freezing of multiple crypto wallets linked to the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, with a frozen amount of $344 million in USDT. This operation is called "Economic Rage Action," executed by Tether, involving two addresses on the Tron blockchain. The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on these wallet addresses, and Tether stated it will continue to coordinate with OFAC and law enforcement agencies to ensure payments used to circumvent sanctions are blocked. According to Chainalysis data, the transaction patterns of these wallets resemble those of known IRGC wallets, showing frequent large transfers. This freeze is the largest single crypto asset freeze directly related to Iran since the current conflict began.
