Recently, someone asked me again, "Is it the mainnet or L2?" Basically, ordinary people are just trying to find a point between gas fees and user experience that doesn't make them feel uncomfortable. The mainnet is indeed reliable, and the costs can really discourage people; L2 is convenient and cheap, but there are a bunch of small pitfalls when bridging back and forth, especially now when phishing links are rampant—clicking the wrong one is just paying tuition.

My compromise: for small transactions and collecting airdrop clues, I stick to the two most commonly used L2s, which is worry-free; only when dealing with large amounts or needing to reconcile with contracts do I go back to the mainnet, with fees as insurance. By the way, hardware wallets are out of stock, which shows people are starting to be afraid… That’s probably a good thing, but don’t just be afraid—first, check your bookmarks, signature pop-ups, and authorization records carefully before confirming, so I don’t have to go back and clean up the mess on the blockchain timestamps again. Be cautious.
