🔥Brazil bans 27 prediction platforms including Kalshi and Polymarket
On April 25th, Brazilian authorities banned 27 prediction market platforms including Kalshi and Polymarket. The new regulations prohibit contracts related to sports, politics, entertainment, or social activities, considering them closer to gambling. Only contracts linked to economic indicators such as inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, or commodity prices are allowed, and they are subject to financial market regulation. This action stems from Resolution No. 5.298 of the National Monetary Council (CMN) of Brazil, which will take effect in early May.
