Turkey Signals Conditional Role in Hormuz Mine Clearing if U.S. and Iran Reach Deal

Turkey said it would consider joining a mine-clearing operation in the Strait of Hormuz if the U.S. and Iran reach a peace agreement. Hakan Fidan said technical teams would be expected to do the work after a deal and added that Turkey would reconsider if the coalition became part of a new conflict. Hakan Fidan also said issues around Iran’s nuclear program could be resolved at the next round of talks in Pakistan.
