Hey, what did South Korea’s tax service do— in a press release, they directly leaked the full seed phrase of a crypto wallet. Right out in the open, for everyone to see. The result? 4 million PRTG tokens were stolen, about $4.8M in losses. And this wasn’t some “freebie” either—it put everyone in danger.

The complete mnemonic phrase for the Ledger wallet was in an unredacted image. Anyone could access everything just from a screenshot. Blockchain data showed that all the tokens were immediately transferred to another wallet. An expert from Hansung University said that if it’s hard to sell these tokens, then maybe the real loss is lower—but either way, it’s still a massive mistake.

This incident is a lesson for everyone about how careful government agencies should be when handling digital assets. A seed phrase should never be published in any document—this is basic security. Has something like this ever happened to you?
