I just saw that the Opinion Foundation has released details about the OPN economics. Looking at the distribution structure, it’s quite balanced. The total is 1 billion units, but during the recent TGE, only 3.5% was released, with most still locked up.
What’s interesting is that 23.5% went to airdrops, which is a fairly large amount. Investors and the team received 23% and 19.5%, respectively, but both have a 12-month lock-up, so there’s no sudden release. For the ecosystem and incentives, it accounts for 11.1%, with most of the release happening after the TGE.
Currently, circulation is about 142 million units, representing approximately 14.2% of the total, indicating there’s still a lot to be released in the next 7 months. Most of it will come from the ecosystem and incentives. The OPN token has multiple uses, from accessing oracle data to governance participation. The team plans to focus on ecosystem growth in the second quarter, which will be interesting to see what happens as more tokens are released after this TGE.
