Agnico Eagle pledges $10M to Inuit Nunangat University
Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. has pledged an additional $10 million to the development of the Inuit Nunangat University, bringing its confirmed funding to $166 million. This Inuit-led institution, set to open in 2030, aims to provide post-secondary education rooted in Inuit language and culture, allowing young people to pursue higher education closer to home. The mining company emphasized that its investment is focused on creating leaders for Nunavut rather than directly supplying workers for the mining sector.
