Morgan Stanley launches reserve fund for stablecoin issuers under GENIUS Act model

Morgan Stanley Investment Management launched the Stablecoin Reserves Portfolio, a government money market fund built for payment stablecoin issuers that need an eligible reserve vehicle under GENIUS Act requirements. The portfolio seeks preservation of capital, daily liquidity, and a stable $1 net asset value. MSIM said the fund will invest only in cash, U.S. Treasury securities with remaining maturities of 93 days or less, and certain overnight repurchase agreements backed by U.S. Treasuries. Earlier this month, the unit launched its first cryptocurrency exchange-traded product, which has attracted over $172 million in net inflows since launch.
