The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology promotes inclusive computing power to empower small and medium-sized enterprises
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued a notice on carrying out a special campaign to promote inclusive computing power to empower the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, proposing that by the end of 2028, a basic inclusive computing power service system covering broad areas, low costs, excellent services, vibrant ecosystems, and strong talent will be established. It aims to cover no fewer than 10 categories out of the 15 industries where the standards for small and medium-sized enterprise classification apply.
The notice makes a series of arrangements around five key tasks, including enhancing the allocation of computing resources, providing inclusive computing power services, empowering key industry enterprises, fostering industry ecological collaboration, and building talent cultivation capabilities. These include encouraging the establishment of dedicated computing pools for small and medium-sized enterprises; exploring innovative services such as “Computing Power Banks” and “Computing Power Supermarkets,” and supporting SMEs in depositing idle computing resources.
The notice also proposes launching a “Modular Resonance” special campaign to promote collaborative development between AI model training applications and data resource development and utilization for SMEs; organizing activities to connect large, medium, and small enterprises; and conducting targeted, tiered talent training.
In terms of safeguard measures, the notice clarifies that relevant parties should establish and improve local work promotion systems, define task divisions, timelines, and responsible entities, and provide necessary supporting measures for the special campaign to empower SMEs with inclusive computing power.
