Market rumors are fueling the story about Powell's resignation, but there’s nothing concrete in reality. For several days now, information about a supposed upcoming departure of the Fed Chair has been circulating on crypto Twitter and financial channels. They talk about an emergency meeting, urgent negotiations — but officially, no one confirms anything. Neither the Fed nor the administration has made any statements.
Powell was supposed to give a speech, and of course, speculation immediately began about his possible successors. It’s interesting to observe how the market reacts to such news. On the Polymarket platform, the probability of Powell leaving is estimated at only 12% — meaning, no one takes this seriously.
Trump has already stated that he does not plan to replace Powell before the end of his term. Hassett also called all this just speculation. But here’s an interesting point — the crypto market isn’t reacting much to this. No significant price jumps, no panic. It seems market participants are simply waiting for official confirmation rather than catching every rumor about Powell.
For now, this looks like another wave of information that could dissipate just as quickly as it appeared. We need to wait for concrete facts, not guesswork over coffee.
