ChainCatcher news: Delphi Digital said in a post on the X platform that in 2025, the GameFi industry performance is weak, with funding down more than 55% year over year. The most anticipated product launches have underperformed, and market enthusiasm remains low.

Web2.5 games are quietly rising; such games treat blockchain as pure infrastructure, usually don’t issue tokens, and compete based on real revenue. Studios including Fumb Games, Mythical Games, and Wemade/Wemix continue to generate substantial income while using blockchain technology to improve profit margins and boost engagement.

Web3-native games this year have created six- to seven-figure revenue, but the player base is smaller and packed with bots. Once incentive mechanisms disappear, users leave in large numbers. Web2.5 studios can currently leverage blockchain advantages without forcing users to speculate. The widespread adoption of stablecoins will accelerate this trend, making small transactions, global payment rails, and participation-based reward mechanisms more convenient.
