I just found out that Singapore has already seized assets worth more than 5 billion Singapore dollars related to the Taizi Group money laundering case. The amount is crazy, equivalent to 2.7 billion yuan RMB. They arrested three local residents and there is still a warrant for the arrest of a woman named Chen Xiuling.
The scariest part is that fraud there now uses AI technology and blockchain. In 2024 alone, the losses have already reached 1.1 billion Singapore dollars. Even though Singapore is famous for its advanced digital financial sector, it has become a hub for fraud. The combination of a wealthy population and a sophisticated digital ecosystem seems to be an opportunity for bad actors.
It's quite serious if it reaches this scale. The case has been ongoing from November to January. I'm curious how they could operate on such a large scale in a country with high security like Singapore.
