Pakistan's Interior Minister meets with U.S. embassy officials to discuss U.S.-Iran negotiation topics
On April 23 local time, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, met with officials from the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged detailed views on the latest situation in the region. The sides also discussed diplomatic efforts to hold a second round of U.S.-Iran negotiations. The meeting stressed that, to achieve a lasting resolution to the conflict, diplomatic channels must remain open. Naqvi said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Army Chief of Staff, Munir, are working with full force to advance a solution to the U.S.-Iran issue at all levels, “hoping that all parties will give diplomacy and a peaceful resolution a chance.” U.S. Embassy officials praised Pakistan’s constructive role in helping establish regional peace and resolve conflicts.
