Google Plans to Invest Up to $40 Billion in Anthropic

Jin10 Data, April 24 — Google will invest $10 billion in Anthropic, with the possibility of an additional $30 billion in the future, strengthening the relationship between the two companies. These companies are both partners and competitors in the artificial intelligence field. Anthropic stated that Google has committed to an immediate investment of $10 billion in cash at a valuation of $350 billion, the same as the company's valuation during its February funding round, but excluding recently raised funds. The startup announced on Friday that if Anthropic meets performance targets, Google will also invest an additional $30 billion and support Anthropic in significantly expanding its computing capacity. With the breakthrough success of the AI assistant Claude Code, Anthropic has increased its fundraising efforts.
