📰 [Wisconsin sues prediction markets over sports betting contracts]

The United States accuses financial platforms like Kalshi, Polymarket, of offering sports betting products that violate Wisconsin gambling laws.

This move by Wisconsin is truly outrageous. Prediction markets are essentially options derivatives, and have nothing to do with sports betting. These regulatory agencies see something new and start reacting instinctively, but turn a blind eye to traditional market makers' exploitative practices. Users are voting with real money to participate in price discovery—this is called a crime? I suggest these folks first learn what financial derivatives are before coming out to embarrass themselves.
