U.S. Defense Secretary: Second Aircraft Carrier to Join Iran Blockade, Which Will Continue Until Goals Are Met

On April 24, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated in a news briefing that a second U.S. aircraft carrier will join the blockade against Iran. So far, 34 vessels have turned back from the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. blockade has expanded globally and has seized two Iranian ‘shadow fleet’ vessels that left Iranian ports before the blockade took effect. Iran still has a window of opportunity to make wise decisions at the negotiating table. The blockade will continue until the objectives are achieved. Iran has a historic opportunity to reach a significant agreement, and the initiative is in their hands.
