Lately, whenever mainnet gas fees get a sudden spike, I feel a bit too lazy to move. The L2 experience is definitely smooth—transfers are as fast as sending a message, and it’s great. But to be honest, I still treat it as a “temporary parking lot.” Usually, for small transactions, getting an airdrop, or just using a protocol, I move it to L2. For big amounts and long-term positions, I’d rather spend a bit more on gas to settle back on the mainnet so I can sleep more soundly. Especially recently, when cross-chain bridges have been having issues again, I don’t want to gamble on the bridge’s safety just to save a few dozen dollars (I’m the type who likes to buy off trouble in advance). And when oracles suddenly throw errors, everyone has learned to “wait for confirmation”—and I do the same. If it takes a little longer, then it takes a little longer; don’t rush and end up digging yourself into a pit.
