Iran rejects Trump's claims of internal division and infighting
Golden Finance reported that on April 24, according to CCTV International News, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Bagheri said on April 23 in an interview with Iranian media that U.S. President Trump’s so-called claim of “Iranian division and infighting” is actually a form of psychological projection. Bagheri emphasized that the focus of negotiations between Iran and the U.S. has shifted from the nuclear issue to ending the war, and safeguarding Iran’s national interests is the top priority. He condemned the United States for firing on Iranian cargo ships, saying, “If the U.S. cannot even fulfill the most basic commitments during a ceasefire, how can we expect others to trust it to carry out a more comprehensive agreement?”
Trump has recently repeatedly claimed that “there is division and internal fighting within Iran.” Earlier on the morning of April 23, Trump posted that, “Iran is extremely struggling to figure out who their leaders are, but they don’t know at all. ‘Hardliners’ lost completely on the battlefield. ‘Moderates’ are not at all moderate, but they are gaining respect, and the infighting between the two sides is simply crazy.” Iran’s Supreme Leader Mujtaba Khamenei, President Pezeshkian, Speaker Kalibaf, and the Chief Justice Ejei have all currently refuted Trump’s claims via social media.
