Claude Desktop hides a powerful trick! You can finally configure a “relay station” without any magic direct API connection!🚀

This is a very low-barrier but extremely practical “local configuration” tip.
1⃣ Enable Developer Mode: A lot of people don’t know this, but Claude Desktop actually has a hidden developer menu.
Click Help -> Troubleshooting -> Enable Developer Mode (top left).
Restart the software, and you’ll find a Developer menu added at the top.
2⃣ Configure Third-Party Inference (Third-Party Inference):
Click Developer -> Configure Third-Party Inference...
Select Gateway (Anthropic-compatible).
Enter your third-party Base URL and API Key.
Click Apply locally and restart.
3⃣ Privacy Protection (Bonus):
Just go to Settings -> Privacy and turn off Location metadata to protect your privacy.
Now you can directly use Claude Desktop to call various third-party models, or fix network instability issues—smooth like it’s native!
