Extreme drought putting strain on lake levels across Middle TN, TVA says

Abstract generation in progress

Ongoing dry conditions are causing low lake and river levels in Middle Tennessee, according to the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District. Due to a lack of significant spring rainfall, reservoirs are much lower than typical for this time of year, with some, like Wolf Creek and Dale Hollow, experiencing their lowest April levels in over a decade. Water must be strategically released to balance hydropower and navigation needs while preserving already low levels.
