In response to the recent accusations by the U.S. Secretary of State that China has “harassed” and “detained” Panamanian-flagged vessels, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular press conference on April 3 that the U.S. side’s remarks are completely baseless—wholly made up and twisting the facts. The U.S. keeps prattling on and making unnecessary fuss, which can only expose its attempt to seize control of the canal.
