Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Electronic Information Department collaborates with ZTE Corporation and Xiaomi Group on the "14th Five-Year" development plan for the electronic information manufacturing industry

Recently, the drafting team for the “15th Five-Year Plan” for the electronic information manufacturing industry of the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has carried out special symposiums and research visits with ZTE Corporation and Xiaomi Group in succession. Relevant officials in charge at ZTE Corporation and Xiaomi Group respectively provided special introductions on areas including chips, basic networks, smart-phone terminals, color televisions, smart wearables, smart home devices, artificial intelligence terminals, and digital transformation. They stated that the “15th Five-Year Plan” period will be a critical window for the transformation and upgrading of the electronic information manufacturing industry, with the sustained release of innovation vitality across the industry, and that development trends toward intelligent, green, and integrated development are evident. A new round of the technological revolution centered on artificial intelligence will deeply reshape the industrial ecosystem, driving emerging fields such as artificial intelligence terminals, computing infrastructure, and intelligent connected vehicles to accelerate their rise, and promoting the leap of the electronic information manufacturing industry toward high-end and intelligent development, thereby providing solid support for the development of the digital economy and the advancement of new-type industrialization. With a focus on the key development directions of the electronic information manufacturing industry during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, ZTE and Xiaomi Group respectively put forward relevant opinions and suggestions.
